Symptom

The volume indicator for WinDVD will obscure part of the closed caption if their positions overlap.

Note: The WinDVD volume indicator is always on top.

Solution

You can change the position of the WinDVD display window so that there is no overlap. Also you can use subtitles instead of closed captioning.
